Link Natural signs strategic partnership with Sampath Bank.

In a move to strengthen its long-standing commitment to agricultural development and rural empowerment, Link Natural Products (Pvt) Ltd has entered into a strategic partnership with Sampath Bank under the bank’s flagship Sampath Saviya Agri-Entrepreneurship Development Programme.

A formal Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed on 26 November 2025, marking the start of a long-term collaboration aimed at enhancing village economies through sustainable, profit-driven agriculture.

The initiative will initially focus on establishing Kohombagaswewa and Ambulgaswewa as model agricultural hubs for high-value medicinal crops such as Katuwelbatu, Elabatu, and other varieties. These pilot communities are expected to set the standard for future expansion to additional rural areas, broadening the project’s national impact.

As part of the collaboration, farmers will receive specialised training in modern crop management techniques. A key feature of the initiative is the provision of reliable market access, addressing one of the most pressing challenges for rural farmers.

Ashan Ransilige, CEO of Link Natural Products, said:
"Our partnership with Sampath Bank is driven by a shared vision of creating sustainable and profitable farming opportunities. By providing technical guidance and guaranteed market access, we aim to empower farmers to realise the full potential of their crops, improve livelihoods, and contribute to the growth of rural economies."

Sampath Bank will oversee the implementation of the project, facilitating engagement with local farmers’ associations and community stakeholders. Progress will be monitored jointly, with Link Natural’s Agriculture Division conducting field inspections and supervising cultivation to ensure quality, compliance, and successful execution.

Dr. Lalith Weragoda, Chief Human Resource Transformation Officer at Sampath Bank, added:
"At Sampath Bank, we believe sustainable agriculture is the backbone of rural prosperity. Through our partnership with Link Natural, we are empowering farmers with knowledge, skills, and reliable market access, enabling them to transform their villages into thriving agricultural hubs."
