AMW Provides Relief Support to Families Impacted by Cyclone Ditwah

Colombo, Sri Lanka – Associated Motorways (Private) Limited (AMW) has provided timely humanitarian assistance to communities impacted by the recent Cyclone Ditwah, handing over a consignment of essential relief packs to the Disaster Management Centre (DMC) to support ongoing national disaster response efforts.

The initiative aims to benefit 1,000 affected families, with each relief pack containing essential food items, basic medication, and other daily necessities to meet immediate needs during the recovery period.

The handover ceremony was attended by Major General Sampath Kotuwegoda (Retd.), ndc, IG, Director General of the Disaster Management Centre, who commended AMW for its prompt intervention and highlighted the importance of private-sector collaboration in strengthening disaster relief operations.

Representing AMW at the event were Prasanna De Silva, Director Sales; Sahan Jayawardena, General Manager Planning/Product; and Udara Gunasinghe, Head of Marketing.

AMW officials reaffirmed the company’s commitment to social responsibility, emphasizing its focus on supporting communities during times of hardship. The organisation continues to work closely with relevant authorities to ensure its CSR initiatives deliver practical, on-the-ground impact where it is most needed.
